A printable family agreement covering 6 internet safety areas. Discuss together, sign, and put on the wall. Connects to all 8 Cyber Smart lessons.

How to use this agreement

  • 1.Read each rule together as a family — discuss why it matters.
  • 2.Both child and parent write their name and date at the bottom.
  • 3.Put this on the wall near the computer or study area.
  • 4.Review together once a month — update rules as the child grows.

Based on the Cyber Smart — Internet Safety course (8 lessons). Every rule below connects to a lesson your child has studied.

Our family rule: We never share our full name, address, school name, phone number, or photos with strangers online.
Child: I will ask a parent before sharing any personal information.
Parent: I will explain WHY certain information must stay private — not just say 'don't share'.

Our family rule: Every account gets its own strong password. We never share passwords with friends.
Child: I will use the 3-rule method: 8+ characters, mix of types, no personal words.
Parent: I will help store passwords safely and check them every 3 months.

Our family rule: If something looks too good to be true or uses urgent language — we stop and check together.
Child: I will use the CHECK method before clicking: Could it be fake? Has it come from someone I know?
Parent: I will never blame my child for asking — even if the message turns out to be safe.

Our family rule: Profiles stay private. We do not accept friend requests from people we have not met in person.
Child: I will apply the Teacher Test: would I be comfortable if my teacher saw this?
Parent: I will review privacy settings with my child once a month — not spy, but guide.

Our family rule: We never send hurtful messages. If someone bullies us online, we Save → Block → Tell.
Child: I will save evidence, block the person, and tell a trusted adult immediately.
Parent: I will listen without overreacting and help my child decide the next step together.
🌐Screen Time & Browsingதிரை நேரம் & உலாவல்
Our family rule: We only visit bookmarked or parent-approved sites. We check for https:// and the padlock.
Child: I will stop and ask if a website looks different, asks for downloads, or shows pop-ups.
Parent: I will set up bookmarks for approved sites and review browsing together weekly.
