Let's Learn
What you will learn today
Learn ready-to-use English conversation patterns for real-life situations.
From grammar to conversation
You now know tenses, prepositions, negation, conjunctions, and possessives. This lesson puts it all together into patterns you can use immediately — in shops, at school, with new people.
Asking for help politely
These patterns make you sound polite and confident:
- 'Can you help me?' — simple and direct
- 'Could you please tell me where the library is?' — more formal
- 'Excuse me, where is the bus stop?' — approaching a stranger
- 'I don't understand. Can you explain again?' — in class or conversation
Expressing your opinion
Sharing what you think is important in English conversation:
- 'I think...' — 'I think this book is interesting.'
- 'I like... because...' — 'I like cricket because it is exciting.'
- 'My favourite is... because...' — 'My favourite subject is science because I like experiments.'
- 'I don't think...' — 'I don't think it will rain today.'
Giving directions
When someone asks you the way:
- 'Go straight.'
- 'Turn left / Turn right.'
- 'It is next to the temple.'
- 'It is opposite the school.'
- 'Go straight, then turn left. It is on your right.' (full direction!)
Polite responses
Good conversations need good responses too:
- 'Thank you' / 'Thanks' — after receiving help
- 'You're welcome' — when someone thanks you
- 'Sorry, I don't know' — when you can't help
- 'No problem' — when someone apologises for something small
- 'See you later' — casual goodbye to a friend
📐 A real conversation
Imagine you are at a new school and need to find the library:
- 1You: 'Excuse me, where is the library?'
- 2Student: 'Go straight, then turn left. It is next to the science lab.'
- 3You: 'Thank you!'
- 4Student: 'You're welcome.'
Your turn — role play
Imagine you are in a shop and you want to buy a notebook. How would you ask the price? How would you ask for help finding it? Try saying it in English.
Real English confidence
Asking for help, sharing opinions, giving directions, responding politely — these are the patterns that make English useful in real life, not just in textbooks.
Four conversation skills: asking for help, expressing opinions, giving directions, and responding politely. These work everywhere — school, shops, travel, and meeting new people.
↪ Final lesson: writing your own paragraph — bringing together everything from this course into connected writing.
